Last Thursday, October 16th, we hosted an AI Investment Day in collaboration with Madrid Innovation Lab (MIL) — part of the Madrid City Council’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
The event kicked off with a keynote by our GP, Rubén Colomer Flos, exploring the vast investment opportunities in Venture Capital within the AI landscape, noting that “today, 1 out of every 2 dollars invested goes into AI startups.”
We then enjoyed a stellar panel discussion that kept the audience fully engaged for over an hour, featuring Patricia Pastor (GP, Next Tier Ventures), Jaime De Mora (Microsoft for Startups), Carlos Iniesta (MasOrange), and David Villalón (Maisa).
The conversation made it clear that investing in the infrastructure powering AI, sector-specific (vertical) solutions, and hyper-automation will define the winners of this new technological era.
The startup pitches were equally impressive — a showcase of true game changers shaping the future of AI. Among them: Carles Reina (ElevenLabs), Nuno Leiria (Nilo), Manuel Tarrasa (TuringDream), Gonzalo de la Peña (Wio Capital), Mar Pujadas (Omniloy, Findr), and Foqum.
One of the key takeaways from the day was that in the new GenAI league, speed will be the ultimate advantage.
A huge thank you to Ángel Niño, Madrid City Council’s Councilor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and the Madrid Innovation Lab team for their support in making this event possible.
